With a background in biomedical and electrical engineering, Lara Timm is relatively new to the field of HPC. She started her HPC journey in 2021 in a graduate role the Centre for High Performance Computing (CHPC), in Cape Town, South Africa. Lara works in a role in the Advanced Computed Engineering Lab, where the primary focus is pursuing research avenues in HPC. Other focuses of the ACE Lab include HCD and HPC collaboration and outreach. Lara is passionate about sharing her experiences, in HPC and otherwise, with special interest in cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, HCD and outreach.
