Biography
Yu-Hsiang Lan is a first year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. His research interests are numerical PDE methods and related fields including mesh generation, developing numerical algorithm and preconditioner for spectral element method, high-performance computing, and visualization. Yu-Hsiang was a Predoctoral Appointee at Argonne National Laboratory working with the Nek5000/NekRS group where he also developed a novel Voronoi-based approach of all-hex mesh generation for randomly packed spheres enabling the first-of-its-kind thermal fluid simulations for the full core of pebble bed reactor.
