Petro is a Principal AI Engineer at SambaNova, where he designs and deploys end-to-end large language model (LLM) solutions focused on prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and agentic workflows. His expertise spans deep learning, generative AI, and applied LLMs. He obtained his Ph.D. and M.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021 and previously interned at Argonne National Laboratory in 2020. He has delivered several tutorials and workshops at conferences, including SC’22–’24, ODSC West ’24, AIE ’24, and ISC’25. In 2023, he was selected to participate in the prestigious U.S. Frontiers of Engineering symposium organized by the National Academy of Engineering.
