Biography
Dr. Jinfeng Zhang received his B.S. in chemistry from Peking University, Beijing China in 1997. He then obtained his M.S. in chemistry, M.S. in computer science, Ph.D. in bioinformatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001, 2002, and 2004, respectively. He had postdoc training at the Department of Statistics of Harvard University from 2004 to 2007. After that, he has been working as a faculty member at the Department of Statistics of Florida State University. He took a leave of absence in 2022 to work full-time for his startup, Insilicom LLC. Dr. Zhang's research has been focused on computational structural biology, genomics and epigenomics data analysis, and biological natural language processing and text mining. At Insilicom, he and his team are working on applying cutting-edge AI technologies for information extraction, integration, and automated knowledge discovery using knowledge graphs.
