Biography
Alexandru Calotoiu received the PhD degree from Technische Universitat (TU) Darmstadt, in 2017, and was awarded the prize for best PhD thesis of the year in the computer science department for outstanding scientific performance. He works as a senior researcher with the group of Prof. Hoefler at ETH Zurich. His research interests are data-centric optimization, performance engineering, parallel programming, and machine learning. He was the main designer of the automated performance-modeling tool Extra-P and currently leads the Fortran-oriented optimization effort of the DaCe data-centric parallel programming framework.
