Biography
With five years as an ORNL engineer, Brad Hillis has focused his career around HPC, embracing the traditional aspects and integrating new technologies into the overall practice. Brad has worked with many firsts for ORNL, including GPU dense-core / dense-memory systems. He was an integral engineer in the deployment of one of the fastest file systems in the world in support of the Veterans Administration's “Million Veteran Program.” Brad has contributed to R&D for government, academic, and commercial research — he has supported the Department of Energy and other agencies as an integral contributor to multiple diagnostic and treatment discoveries in cancer, suicide, and predictive disease research. His current work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is especially important to him as he now directly supports research for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs programs for health, cancer, suicide, and VA modernization projects.
