Biography
Dan Olds is a veteran of the HPC industry with more than 25 years of experience in the high-end server market and as an industry analyst. He recently launched Olds Research to address the broad and real challenges of the coming "Data Center Perfect Storm" that will impact budgets and facilities, and will require a much greater level of operational and computing efficiency.
Olds closely tracks CPU, accelerator, systems, applications and data center operations in HPC, AI, and high-end enterprises as a part of his research.
He has also been following and documenting Student Cluster Competitions worldwide since 2010. He started the Winter Classic Invitational Student Cluster Competition to help build HPC/AI skills at HBCUs and HSIs.
Dan was formerly the Chief Research Officer for industry analyst firm Intersect360.
